Dance at Home with CRBA in our live zoom classes! Teachers interact with your student, teach ballet steps and positions, and foster a love of ballet as your student dances along at home! Our summer programs begin July 27 and are being offered both in studio and virtually. Go to Summer Ballet tab on left for more information.

(kindergarten and first grade for the 2019-2020 school Year)

The program bridges the gap between Pre-Ballet and the Upper Division, building more technique to prepare for formal training, while still providing a creative outlet with bringing ballet stories to life as we dance them out. FAQs

What Should I wear?
Your regular CRBA dress code, of course! Your teachers want to be able to see you, so they can help you dance your best! Note: students new to CRBA do not need to adhere to the dress code for online ballet. Just wear dance wear and ballet slippers if you have them. If you don't, wear something form fitting that you can move in and socks on your feet. Please pull back hair for Pre-Ballet and Primary. Upper Division students wear hair in a bun.

How much room do I need?
Our online classes can be done in any size space! IMPORTANT: You must be sure the area your dancer will use is free of hazards before he/she begins each class.

What about the class content?
We teachers will be following the CRBA syllabus for the various levels, while tailoring the content for safety in the new home spaces and to best serve our students during this period. Pointe students wishing to do pointe in online ballet need appropriate marley mat to lay down during class - contact Emily for details. Pirouettes will be limited to a single at the student's discretion based on his/her floor surface. We will add in conditioning and stretching components which will benefit the students and help them to return to the studio stronger.

How long will the classes be?
They will be a bit shorter in this format. In the studio, we allow time to travel across the floor and have students wait their turn to do combinations individually and in small groups. In an online class, students have their turn every time! This will also allow for a break between classes to make things run smoothly.

Will the teacher be able to see my students?
Yes! We will be able to see and interact with each student!

What do we need for classes?
Please wear the dress code if you have it (if not, no problem) and use any area free of hazards. Students in Primary B and higher will need something at waist height to use as a "barre." This could be a chair back, countertop, mantle, etc. Students in Class III and higher may want to have a yoga mat or towel and a non stretchy belt nearby as these may be used for stretch and conditioning. Your student can do the class on any device with a screen and internet connection, though it will be easier to see with a bigger screen (laptop or device connected to your TV. iPhones and IPads can also be used.
